Blue scores are not commensurate even between different corpora in the same translation direction. Bleu is really only comparable for different systems or system variants on the exact same data.
In the case of the same corpus in two directions, an imperfect analogy might be gas mileage between two different cities. No matter how consistently you drove, you wouldn't expect the exact same gasoline usage driving from city A to city B as in the other direction, (especially if one direction is more uphill than the other).

hello all,
I want to run EMS on my ubuntu system but it got the following error:

I have already installed Imagemagick on mu system.

Hii gud day.. another question again.. as have translated using phrase
based translation ..using moses and hve calculated the bleu score.. what
about factored based translation is there any difference?... reading the
manual i can't get a proper idea..and do i have to apply..this further. and
what is factored translation..

Hi,
I'm working on a feature function that depends on the source and I would
like to add its score to future cost estimates.
I noticed that FFs can only affect future score in the first overload of
the Evaluate() method which does not have access to the input. Is there
a reason for this limitation?
As far as I can tell from the code (in TranslationOptionCollection.cpp),
pruning only occurs *after* EvaluateWithSource() is called. So would it
break anything if FFs which are called in this method could also affect
future cost estimates?
If not, is it OK if I add a reference to estimatedFutureScore as a
parameter to the second overload?

yes, of course. The current set of FF only calculate future cost in the 1st
Evaluate. However, there's no reason why future cost should be updated in
the 2nd. Update it if you think it would be useful
