*Multilingualism at the intersection of Knowledge Bases and Machine
Translation (2nd MomenT workshop)*
Date: 19th August, 2019. To be held as part of the 17th Machine Translation
Summit, which will take place in the Helix Theatre at Dublin City
University, Dublin.
Website: http://moment2019.insight-centre.org
Submission Deadline: *3rd June, 2019*
-------------------------
*Workshop Description*
-------------------------
The Workshop on ?Multilingualism at the intersection of Knowledge Bases and
Machine Translation? aims to offer a forum for discussions for researchers
and developers that find themselves at the intersection of the two strands
of research, namely, knowledge bases (KBs) of high-specialised domains
(represented by domain knowledge graphs, ontologies, terminologies,
dictionaries) and machine translation (MT), where the intersection point is
precisely multilingualism. On the one hand, there is an impending need to
cater for multilingual knowledge resources that support Natural Language
Processing (NLP), content analytics or information extraction across
languages. On the other hand, there is a growing interest in exploiting the
knowledge captured in such resources for machine translation systems that
often lack the knowledge of domain-specific expressions.
-------------------------
*Topics of Interest*
-------------------------
The workshop invites the submission of papers reporting on research on
topics related to terminological/ontological resources processing in MT,
including, but not limited to:
- Multilingual knowledge base (knowledge graphs, ontologies, thesaurie)
generation with MT
- Multilingual and cross-lingual Information extraction for MT
- Injection of multilingual domain-specific knowledge into MT
- Provenance of multiple multilingual knowledge bases for MT
- MT used for cross-lingual information access, search and retrieval
- Enhancements to OOV word translation for MT
- Exploiting relational knowledge graphs for Neural MT
- Addressing variations of terms in MT
- Multilingual knowledge generation for under-resourced languages with MT
- Enriching MT with linked data (e.g. BabelNet, DBpedia, UMLS)
- Multilingual terminology and linguistic resource development,
integration and mapping in a linked data context for MT
- Multilingual semantic web and linked data use cases
-------------------------
*Submission & Publication*
-------------------------
Submitted papers must not exceed 9 (nine) pages plus unlimited pages for
references, and must be formatted according to the MT Summit 2019 style
guide (www.mtsummit2019.com). These papers will be rigorously reviewed for
novelty and impact, and published in the conference proceedings. They will
be presented at the conference as either oral presentations or as posters.
The submitted papers must represent new work that has not been previously
published. Pre-prints posted online on servers such as arXiv do not count
as published papers, and thus are allowed to be submitted.
For contact data and up-to-date details on submission and the workshop itself,
please consult the workshop website (http://moment2019.insight-centre.org).
For the submission template, please check the MT Summit 2019 style guide (
www.mtsummit2019.com).
